Access: Supports for Living Opens 15,000-Square-Foot Center of Excellence in New Windsor
Access: Supports for Living has officially opened its new Center of Excellence in New Windsor, creating a regional hub for training, workforce development, research and collaboration in the Hudson Valley.
The nonprofit held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility, located on nine acres on the grounds of Stewart Airport. The 15,000-square-foot, fully accessible center is designed to bring together practitioners, researchers, advocates and families while providing new opportunities for professional training and workforce development.
The facility includes a conference room with seating for more than 100 people, vocational training labs, a commercial kitchen, technology-equipped training spaces, a 163-inch LED video wall, a year-round greenhouse and seasonal gardens.
The Center of Excellence will support specialized training workshops, certification and continuing education programs, applied research, technology integration, vocational training and collaboration among organizations working in the human services field.
Access: Supports for Living serves individuals and families throughout the Hudson Valley, providing behavioral health, developmental disability, housing, employment and other community-based services.
The New Windsor facility is located near major transportation infrastructure, including Stewart International Airport, Interstate 84 and the New York State Thruway, positioning it to serve participants from throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond.
The organization has said the Center of Excellence is intended to strengthen the region's human services workforce while creating a centralized location for training, research, innovation and collaboration.
