Hudson Gateway REALTOR® Foundation Presents $1,500 Donation to Abilities First, Serving the Hudson Valley

White Plains, NY (December 2023) The Hudson Gateway REALTOR® Foundation, the charitable arm of the Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS®, recently presented a check for $1,500 to Abilities First, a non-profit organization serving the Hudson Valley.

Abilities First, with 31 locations in Dutchess and Orange Counties, is dedicated to providing support to people with developmental challenges and their families. With a commitment to inclusion, Abilities First seeks to change the landscape of human services, envisioning a world where all people are recognized and valued for their abilities first.

The organization was founded in 1962 by a group of visionary parents who wanted to create a school with an outpatient therapy clinic to help their children with disabilities reach their greatest potential. As the children grew, Abilities First grew its programs and services to keep pace with community needs.

Today, Abilities First serves the educational, vocational, and residential needs of over 1,400 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families spanning seven Hudson Valley counties and 25 school districts.

Since 2014, the Hudson Gateway Realtor Foundation has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to charities and non-profits throughout Hudson Valley. As concerned members of the communities we work in, the Hudson Gateway REALTOR® Foundation participates in qualified community-based charities who serve the housing, hunger, health, happiness, and humane needs of citizens everywhere.
