IMPACT 2026 Delivers Insights, Innovation, and Inspiration for Real Estate Professionals

Real Estate In-Depth • June 4, 2026

More than just a conference, IMPACT 2026 brought together REALTORS®, industry leaders, affiliates, and business partners for a full day of education, innovation, networking, and professional development at Manhattanville University's historic REID Castle.

Hosted by Hudson Gateway Association of REALTORS® (HGAR), the event featured a dynamic lineup of speakers and panel discussions focused on the tools, trends, and strategies shaping the future of real estate.

The day began with a New York legal update course taught by HGAR General Counsel John Dolgetta, followed by a welcome from HGAR President Rey Hollingsworth Falu and the introduction of HGAR's new Chief Executive Officer, Grace Smith, who officially joined the association on June 3 and served as emcee for the event.

One of the highlights of the day was a leadership conversation featuring President Falu, New York State Association of REALTORS® President Ron Garafalo, and National Association of REALTORS® President Kevin Brown. The discussion focused on the future of the MLS, the importance of organized real estate at the local, state, and national levels, and the leadership priorities guiding each organization. Topics included professionalism, advocacy, industry collaboration, and the tools REALTORS® need in their business toolkit today, including practical AI, RPR® (Realtors Property Resource®), and professional standards resources. The leaders also shared perspectives on their respective initiatives, including Professionalism, Back to Business, and Tied to Success.

Technology and innovation were recurring themes throughout the conference. Alex Montalenti of Real Grader explored practical AI strategies that can help agents scale their businesses and attract more clients. Kathy D'Agostino followed later in the day with actionable tips on using AI tools to save time, improve efficiency, and generate referrals.

Attendees also heard from Julia Lashay Israel, who challenged professionals to build stronger businesses by creating meaningful connections within their communities. Her presentation highlighted how trust, service, and engagement can create opportunities for both personal and professional growth.

OneKey® MLS leaders Richard Haggerty and Gary Connolly provided attendees with updates on MLS technology, upcoming functionality enhancements, compliance changes, and tools designed to help members operate more effectively in today's market.

Marketing and personal branding took center stage during the afternoon sessions. Talia McKinney shared strategies for building a recognizable and authentic brand, while Kim Rittberg offered practical advice on how professionals can elevate their presence through video, podcasts, public speaking, and media appearances.

A panel discussion on database management and referral generation demonstrated how agents can strengthen relationships and create consistent business opportunities by staying connected with their sphere of influence. Attendees also received a post event Marketing Resource Kit featuring takeaways and resources from several keynote speakers, providing actionable tools they can immediately implement in their businesses.

Another exciting announcement was the introduction of REConnect, a new member benefit that will soon provide all HGAR members with complimentary access to a Canva powered marketing application designed specifically for real estate professionals. Members will also have the option to upgrade their service for additional features.

The conference concluded with a timely market update from National Association of REALTORS® representative Matt Christopherson, who examined the ongoing housing affordability and inventory challenges affecting markets across the country and explored what may lie ahead for the industry.

Throughout the day, attendees connected with dozens of exhibitors and sponsors in the IMPACT Expo, participated in networking opportunities, visited the RPAC Investors Lounge, and capped off the experience with a cocktail reception overlooking the REID Castle grounds.

As the real estate industry continues to evolve, IMPACT 2026 reinforced the importance of education, technology, professionalism, advocacy, and community engagement. Most importantly, it provided attendees with practical ideas, new connections, and valuable resources they can use to strengthen their businesses and better serve their clients.

HGAR extends its gratitude to the speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, volunteers, leadership, and members who helped make IMPACT 2026 a memorable and successful experience.
