WHITE PLAINS—The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors regrets to inform its membership of the passing of veteran Realtor Linda Marie Vetrano DeFilippo on May 10 at the age of 58.

The beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was a longtime and well-respected sales agent for Howard Hanna Rand Realty in its New City office.

More than 25 years ago, she began her career in real estate with determination, hard work, and a true passion for helping others. Through her dedication and commitment to her clients, she built an extraordinary career and became an award-winning top Realtor in Rockland County. She was admired throughout the community for her professionalism, integrity, and genuine care for the families she served. To Linda, real estate was never just about houses; it was about helping people find a place to call home, and many of her clients became lifelong friends.

Linda also took great pride in helping further develop the county she grew up in and loved so deeply. She valued the relationships she built throughout the community and felt honored to play a role in helping families establish their homes and futures in Rockland County.

Town of Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann posted on social media: “It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of Linda DeFilippo after a brief illness. Linda was an absolutely incredible person, committed to her family and community and an exceptional Realtor. I personally have known Linda for over 25 years; our daughters went to school together. She had also served as a member of our assessment review board for the Town of Clarkstown. My condolences to Linda‘s family and friends. She will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, Linda.”

Colleague at Howard Hanna and Mayor of Nyack Joseph Rand also took to social media to pay tribute to Vetrano DeFilippo’s contributions to the real estate industry and Rockland County.

“I was just devastated to hear of the passing of my friend and colleague Linda Vetrano DeFilippo, with whom I worked for many years at the Rand real estate organization,” Rand said. “She was one of the finest, sweetest, and kindest people I knew, and one of the best and most accomplished real estate professionals in the history of Rockland County. I adored her and will miss her greatly… My deepest condolences to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.”

Her family noted in her obituary that Linda shared a special bond with her family through the New York Yankees and treasured attending Opening Day with her son, John, creating memories together that became one of their most cherished traditions.

Her greatest joy was being a mother! She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Jenna, doing arts and crafts and sharing laughter, creativity and countless memories. She also adored making videos with her grandson, Nicholas, moments that brought her endless happiness and laughter.

A devoted woman of faith, Linda held a special love for Saint Michael the Archangel and found comfort and strength in prayer throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Jenna; son, John; grandson, Nicholas; mother, Geraldine; father, Dominick; sister, Lisa (Bill) DiGiacomo; brother, Vinny (Joanne) Vetrano; nieces, Alisa, Alaina and Alexa; and nephews, Dominick and Vincent.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses, and loved ones who provided support, compassion, and care during Linda’s final days. Services were held last week. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen.
