Northwell Health is continuing to invest in Westchester County with the expansion of both orthopedic and neurology services, further strengthening the region's healthcare infrastructure and increasing access to specialized care for local residents.

The health system recently announced the opening of a new $2.36 million orthopedic practice in White Plains, while also expanding neurology services through the addition of a well-established Westchester neurology practice. Together, the investments reflect Northwell's ongoing strategy of bringing advanced specialty care closer to the communities it serves.

According to Northwell Health, the new orthopedic facility at 244 Westchester Avenue in White Plains features 4,630 square feet of clinical space, including nine exam rooms, on-site imaging services, and treatment options ranging from sports medicine and joint care to spine, hand, foot, and ankle specialties.

"This new White Plains location allows us to deliver easily accessible, comprehensive orthopedic care right here in lower Westchester," said Dr. Brandon Erickson, chief of orthopedics at Phelps Hospital and regional director of orthopedics in Westchester. (Source: Northwell Health).

In a separate announcement, Northwell also welcomed the neurologists and staff of Comprehensive Neurology and Pain Center of New York into its physician network. The practice, led by Dr. Daniel Kassicieh and Dr. Angela Rosenberg, has served patients in Westchester for more than two decades and will continue operating from its existing locations in White Plains and Purchase. The addition expands access to neurological care, including treatment for conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, dementia, and chronic pain disorders.

Healthcare Continues to Drive Economic Growth

The announcements highlight the continued growth of healthcare as one of Westchester County's most important economic sectors.

Healthcare systems have become significant drivers of commercial real estate activity throughout the Hudson Valley, generating demand for medical office space, outpatient facilities, specialty care centers, and supporting services. As providers increasingly shift care closer to where patients live and work, communities throughout the region continue to see investment in neighborhood-based healthcare facilities.

For White Plains in particular, the expansion reinforces the city's position as a regional healthcare hub. Major providers including Northwell Health, White Plains Hospital, Montefiore, and NewYork-Presbyterian continue to invest in facilities, technology, and workforce development throughout the county.

Quality Healthcare Supports Strong Communities

Access to high-quality healthcare remains an important consideration for residents, employers, and prospective homebuyers evaluating communities throughout Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Orange, and the Bronx.

Healthcare investments not only create jobs and support local economies, but also contribute to quality of life by improving access to specialized services and reducing the need for residents to travel outside their communities for care.

As healthcare delivery continues to evolve, investments such as Northwell's orthopedic expansion and neurology integration demonstrate the growing importance of accessible, community-based specialty care throughout the region.
